Black History Month Panel "Outsiders are In: Paving the Way as a Black Creative
Jamestown Settlement’s annual Black Artist Showcase will be on extended view throughout February 2024, connecting the past and present through vivid intersections of contemporary art and 17th-century history. The artworks, created by professional Virginia-based artists, celebrates modern African American life and culture. The guiding theme for 2024 is “the beauty of our lives.” The theme, which is open to interpretation however the artist desires, is inspired by a passage from James Baldwin’s “
